Course Description: Ask just about anybody who enjoys massage to tell you what their favorite parts are, and more often than not, they will tell you that they love having their feet massaged. Not only that, but since reflexology is excellent for clients who may be contraindicated for full body massage for various reasons, or who do not wish to disrobe, it is a wonderful addition to your list of skills. Dating back to the ancient Egyptians over 5000 years ago, reflexology works by stimulating the reflex zones of the feet and hands, dissipating energy blockages that create imbalance, thus bringing health and vitality to your clients. Foot and hand reflexology also promotes self healing by stimulating the lymphatic system, release of toxins, and reduction of stress.

In addition to foot reflexology, this course also covers ear and hand reflexology. Unlike typical bodywork, hand reflexology is easily performed just about anywhere on the spur of the moment. It is a skill that you will use repeatedly.

Please note: To earn the title of Certified Reflexologist, the standard of the Reflexology Association of America is to have a 200 hour training and internship. This course is designed for therapists who either wish to incorporate reflexology concepts into their massage practice without having to take a 200 hour training, or who are considering a 200 hour training but want to get a taste for reflexology before making that commitment. You will earn your 18 CEUs and certificate of completion. Please note that some jurisdictions may restrict massage therapists from performing reflexology without a 200-hour (or more) reflexology training. It is your responsibility to know the laws that apply to you.

Student Comment: "Excellent. Illustrations were excellent, easy to understand. I liked the simplification of language and explanation, and that I could call or email if I had questions or needed help." Jacqueline M. LeDay, Illinois

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Will your online courses work on my phone, tablet, or other device? Yes, we should be compatible with all devices and browsers. Since technology continues its rapid pace forward, it is impossible for us to provide a current and complete list of all devices on which our courses will work. We invite you to take our free sample course so that you can personally test if the online content and streaming video work on your device.

Can I review the course materials after I’ve completed the test? Yes. Even after completing the test, you will have the option to access the online course materials, print another CE certificate, or review your test results. We promise this access for at least one year. We have always exceeded that time period, however, technology updates sometimes make older data inaccessible, so we do not promise more than one year. For this reason, we recommend that you save copies of your certificates and any downloadable PDF files that you may wish to access indefinitely.

Can I print the online test to work on it at my convenience? Yes. We provide a PDF study guide that contains the test questions, so you can complete it at your convenience. When you are ready, you can then input your answers from the study guide into the online test.

What happens if I fail the test? Do I have to pay again? No. If you happen to fail our test, you can continue to retest until you do pass at no additional charge. With most of our courses, as noted above, the test will be different each time you take it. You can print out your test results to use as a reference for studying before taking the test again.

What is the difference between cognitive and kinesthetic courses? Cognitive courses are those that teach concepts related to massage therapy, but do not teach specific hands-on techniques. Courses such as ethics, pathology, anatomy, and research are classified as cognitive. Kinesthetic courses are those that teach specific hands-on techniques that you can use on clients during a massage therapy session. Some states limit how many kinesthetic courses can be completed in an online or home study setting. Refer to our state guidelines page for specifics about your state.

Do you report our course completions to the NCBTMB, ABMP, AMTA, or any other agencies? None of these agencies have a method for us to report to them on your behalf. They prefer that you provide the evidence of CEs that their renewal process details. CE Broker (for Florida and Georgia) is the only reporting agency available to us at this time.
