- Varicose Veins Course Description: This online massage therapy CEU course covers the anatomy, symptoms, and causes of varicose veins. You will study the anatomy of the veins, causes for the development of varicose veins, symptoms of varicose veins, and factors a massage therapist needs to consider when working with clients who have varicose veins. Incorrectly massaging someone with varicose veins can make the condition worse. Varicose veins are a result of failing intervenous valves. Sending too much blood through the veins can create too much stress on the valves, causing more to fail. Correctly massaging someone with varicose veins can assist the weakened veins in returning blood back to the heart.

You will be able to distinguish between true sciatica and false sciatica (also known as piriformis syndrome), perform functional testing to determine if piriformis syndrome is the reason for the sciatic pain, and treat your client's pain with heat, stretching, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (postisometric relaxation and reciprocal inhibition), deep tissue massage, and static compression. You will also learn self treatment techniques for heat, stretching, static compression, and PNF. Being able to properly distinguish between true and false sciatica will enable you alleviate your client’s pain.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are your online courses downloadable to my computer? No. You must be logged in on our website to view the course materials. Please feel free to take our free sample course to see how our online courses and testing works.
Will your online courses work on my phone, tablet, or other device? Since technology continues its rapid pace forward, it is impossible for us to provide a current and complete list of all devices on which our courses will work. We invite you to take our free sample course so that you can personally test if the online content and streaming video work on your device.
Can I review the course materials after I’ve completed the test? Yes. Even after completing the test, you will always have the option to access the course materials, print another certificate, or review your test results.
Is online testing the only testing option you have available? If you enroll online, you will automatically be set up to take the online exam. If you prefer to have a paper test we are happy to accommodate that. There is a $20 fee for processing paper testing, which includes the premium, gold-embossed sealed certificate (online testers also have the option to purchase a premium certificate for $15).
What is the difference between cognitive and kinesthetic courses? Cognitive courses are those that teach concepts related to massage therapy, but do not teach specific hands-on techniques. Courses such as ethics, pathology, anatomy, and research are classified as cognitive. Kinesthetic courses are those that teach specific hands-on techniques that you can use on clients during a massage therapy session. Some states limit how many kinesthetic courses can be completed in an online or home study setting. Refer to our state guidelines page for specifics about your state.
Do you automatically report course completions to CE Broker? Yes, but only if you had your Florida license number associated with your online account prior to taking your exam.
Do you report our course completions to the NCBTMB, ABMP, AMTA, or any other agencies? None of these agencies have a method for us to report to them on your behalf. They prefer that you provide the evidence of CEs that their renewal process details.
